    No newbie to lifting

been lifting seriously for 4 yrs

    started at 6'2'' @ 165lbs @12% BF or so
    currently @ 214lbs @ ~ 14% BF

right now I'm just gaining quality mass but in a few months I want to cut.

Last year I did my first ever real cut and it was fucking helll. I am really good at sticking to training/diet but I could never get really solid cutting advice.

I used a carb cycle approach where it went like this:

    50c
    75c
    150c
    100c
    50c

where I increased the freqency of cardio then the length

worked well, got down to 9% bf and actually got a little stronger. Got down to 183lbs but it took me like 4-5 fucking months

As a 6'2" guy who is ~10 lbs off where you are now, why in god's name would you want to cut? I'm still nowhere near where I want to be. Also, I started at pretty much the exact point you did, and I've only been lifting seriously for ~5months... did you just not eat or something for 3 years?

pull all carbs, that means sugar too. Go 3 days to carb up & 7 days no carbs, if ya can hang. 1 hour of cardio 140-160 bmp.

oops, i meant seriously for 3 yrs (started spring 03)

i am a CRAZY hardgainer and a huge ectomorph

what happened was i dirty bulked to 215lbs and was bloated/fat so i cut to 11% BF (or so) then bulked again then dieted down then put on quality mass since then (learned all this the hard way)

The reason my gains aren't amazing is b/c I'm doing school + intern + partying and I have to eat A LOT to gain mass which is the hardest part for me (I seriously have to eat 4100 or more cals/day to add size)

i dont want to cut now but I just want to read up on it so when I am ready to cut I will know what to do

This might sound really dumb, but what can you eat with no carbs?

    well I love carbs

anyways, carbs are our main source of energy. Fat is stored energy, so if you stop supplying yourself the main source of energy its going to have to draw it from your fat reserves... there's probably a lot more behind this but this is how I see it.

I acutally did a CKD diet for my first cut (only cut twice in my life) and fucking HATED IT!

cutting isn't as simple as dropping your carbs then having a refeed

If you have links/documents/whatever to post plz post them... i want to get really scientific with this shit

i know this, but as long as you eat them in moderation and try to take in the majority post workout, i don't see why people are so worried about them
