driver issues

    are there any free programs out there i can download to see if my computer is missing any drivers? i have tried google, but i gotta pay for all that stuff. i have been having some performance issues lately and i want to get to the bottom of it.

    if not drivers, then what could it be? i have run virus scans, adware and spyware scans, it all came back with nothing. its a dell 2.4ghz p4, 1 gig ram and a 100gb hard drive. its slow as hell, i cant watch videos, either streaming from the internet or on my media players, it just gets all choppy.

    Right click my computer>Properties>hardware tab>device manager>IDE ATA(open properties of the controller for 1 and 2, and make sure they are in DMA mode, and not PIO).

    everything checks out ok. anything else possibly? i have formatted this hard drive twice and reinstalled all the drivers. nothing seems to work.
