I was trying to format my eSATA drive from FAT32 to NTFS, but when I try formatting it with explorer, it says "Windows is unable to complete the format". I tried the same thing with the admin tools, but it still wouldn't format. I deleted the partition and that worked fine, but it still won't format. Why is this? Any ideas on how to get this working? I've tried resetting the drive.

Maybe the drive has an extra partition with backup software?

Check BIOS for write-lock on drive. Boot from XP cd and format.
