I recently reinstalled windows and the drive letters are not what I expect them to be and I am having a hard time rearraging the drive letters.

    Currently they are:

    C:\ for my Windows install
    D:\ for my DVD burner
    E:\ for my Storage HD.

I would like to simply switch the D and E drive letters.
I thought I could do this in disk management but I can only change the letter of my disk drive and not my burner. How do I get around this?

What do you mean that you can't change it? Any errors?

You should be able to change them all without any issues. If you want to swap D and E, you'll have to change D to something else first, so you can make the other drive D and then make the other one E.

Are you running XP? If so, disk management should be able to change the drive letter for your burner. When I open the disk management tool, I can right-click on my DVD drive and the first option in the context menu is to change the drive letter. Just pick a new drive letter and you should be on your way.

Thanks for the help, I thought you had to click on the drive at a different place which "Change Drive Letter" was not an option.

    Sometimes these things aren't intuitive.

    Thanks a bunch.
