  1. I'm often find myself singled out in social events whenever drinking is involved. I mean, I can get hammered once in a while, but I'm pretty careful of my diet and I always feel so dirty coming down from a clean diet.
Tonight, my SO got pissed at me for only have one drink.:fawk: Its so hard to explain to someone your diet and your goals without sounding like a total ass. I some how come off as an eltist "I'm better than you"....

Cliffnotes: I just want to be loved :noes:

Your SO probably just wants you to get drunk so she doesn't seem like the alchoholic one in the relationship.

If I don't feel like drinking, I usually just sip on 1 beer for the whole party. Other than that, I stopped being persuaded by the "All the cool kids are doing it" shit in the 5th grade.

couldnt have said it better. your SO is obviously a jealous, controlling piece of shit and just from your SO saying what they said last night its obvoius they have more problems than you need to put up with. they should support you 100% but they obviously dont and thats not healthy to you, because it'll eventually start getting to you, it happens to us all.

you'd think that. except when you get a fucked up SO they will just be possessive because they dont agree, its not about support its about control, like i said, this person has problems and needs to be dropped like a bad habit.

I'm pretty sure I've missed out on a few snatches by not drinking and seeming like the asshole "I'm better than you" elitist non-drinker, but I don't really care anymore. I'll still go out and have fun, but I don't need to drink to do it... I'm pretty crazy anyhow. I don't act like I'm better than anyone that is drinking, but I think people are intimidated by me hanging out and not drinking... I don't feel any pressure to drink, peer pressure is for those in high school.

its extremely difficult to stop people(who are social or heavy drinkers) from hating on you for choosing a lifestyle which doesnt revolve around drinking. too many of my lifting friends have dropped what were seemingly good girls because of the girl's insatiable love of alcohol. someone who is not dedicated to fitness or who doesnt have any understanding of how much alcohol affects you is going to push you like a junkie. we watched as one of our buddies girlfriend went from an amazing body to being pudgy and unhealthy looking (out of shape) because she decided in college she would let loose and drink every weekend and be lazy and not stay in shape, it was devastating watching her transform over that semester and we tried to drop little hints but she was too much into it.

i say drop her like a bad habit

if they are real friends they will be cool with it and not give you shit. i used to party and drink like crazy then decided i was done and stopped. at first all my friends were surprised and said i wouldnt last but i did. they don t say anything and we still go out and have a good time.

Find an empty mickey (or 26er if you want to look REALLY cool) of vodka or rum and fill it with water. Drink it straight, without a chaser in front of everyone. You'll look like a tank and fit in, and no extra calories. :bigthumb:
