Drink Whey Brotein while trying to lose weight?

    I'm trying to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time....should I drink brotein shakes or wait until i lose the fat first?

    i take about 1.5 scoops after my runs, they say your body needs protein and carbs after a run :dunno:

    watch the calories though. I have a tin at home that is 150calories per scoop, so be sure to factor that into your day.

    and yeah, protein is essential while you are cutting fat if you wish to retain muscle.

    So I have a question then. I have been progressing and losing weight pretty quickly and don't know too much about the whole nutrition aspect besides eating right for everyday intake. I will not be doing much exercise besides walking and an elliptical machine, so would I benefit from taking whey protein everyday? I would like to try to build muscle slowly while also losing the weight, but I don't know if I would be wasting money if I used it daily while only doing light exercise. Thanks for any help.
