I want to figure out way that allows me to sit on the sofa and let me:
-stream music to my receiver (Airport Express)
-lets me stream video to the LCDTV (Popcorn Hour?)
    -surf the internet (?)

I would also want my LCDTV to:
-allow me to switch from TV to the Internet
-use my laptop to control the Plasma

Here is what I'll be working with so far:
    Macbook Pro 15"
    Toshiba 46" LCDTV 1080p

here are some options, anything that's going to be able to stream video to your lcd is also going to be able to stream music to fucking neptune:
media extender. examples: xbox360, ps3, appleTV, media extenders, etc.
HTPC: examples, hp htpc, mac mini, ps3
NAS+laptop: use the macbook you have with a big hard drive, and mirror your macbook to your LCD.

I run a small file server with my music/videos on it, which streams to my xbox 360. I also have a harmony one remote so I just browse through the xbox using that rather than using the actual xbox controller. As far as browsing the internet though you will need to hook up either an HTPC or your laptop unless you can browse on the ps3.
