Watched Dream 1, 2, and 3 this week and must say the production is great. The intro's, the ring, the rules etc just support the great fights so well. I love watching both promotions as I have fighters I follow in both, but I hope Dream continues to grow and more fighters go back to Japan to fight.

A side note, but I forgot how much respect Japanese fans give the fighters. They are silent when the fight goes to the ground, and they cheer when the fighters do well. Not to mention, I don't think I could imagine a drunk japanese fan falling off the balconey during an event like what happened a few UFC's ago.

My only complaint is the commentary... Bas was a great fighter, but he says some really weird shit during the play by play. Trigg I think did a better job overall.

You think Trigg is better than Bas? wtf trigg is the most boring uncharismatic commentary alive.
    Bas ftw

If UFC's canvas on the cage was white, I think it would help.

Agreed, every time Trigg forces out an "Oh my god!" whenever anyone gets dropped I die a little on the inside.

    Japanese fans >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> non-Japanese fans

One of the main reasons why I loved Pride so much was the fan reactions. They all seem genuinely excited/educated when a fighter escapes a sub and they start cheering and screaming like crazy :)

Yeah the production and how the cameras are looks so much better.

I always wonder why drifting in Japan looks so much more excitement in their video vs US. I love how Japanese do things, everything they do they're so passionate about. This is why most of JDM shit are top notch.

i agree with everything you said except that you prefer trigg over bas. Bas IS hilarious, and trigg is fucking gay as an announcer, plus he is too biased towards wrestling. Cant stand trigg as commentator.

I've never had a hard-on for Bas's commentating like some people. I think Rogan is better.

I love Frank Mir and Rogan. I would be happy with them commentating everything.

Bas, Quadros, Mir, and Florian have a good way of commentating without getting too overbearing. Rogan was cool at first, but after hearing 'dropping bombs', 'swinging for the fences', and all his other lines that he throws out every event are getting stale.

Mauro and Trigg are good, too, but sometimes they're a bit off. I think Mauro has a checklist of lines for every little thing. :o I remember some crazy line about him talking about some guy going down like the stock market crash of 1929. wtf

it makes me l laugh when las vegas crowds boo whenever a fight isnt' over in the 1st minute. i'm at the point that it's enjoyable to chuckle at the fans boo'ing if a fight goes to the ground and the fighters are fighting for a dominant postion etc, the impatient vegas crowds are hilarious

I love all MMA. Something about white ring and blue gloves tho. :bigthumb:

And if you think the boos are bad on TV, go to an event live, fucking white trash motherfuckers booing like crazy if it goes to the ground.

I don't see how anyone that hates ground game can have interest in the sport like that--they should just watch boxing and kickboxing if they just want stand-up.

It is very reminiscent of PRIDE, which I miss dearly. Not quite the same or as good though. I really miss the PRIDE theme music playing while the fighters are announced. That always used to get me pumped up for the fights to follow...

The best thing about Bas is his commenting on "The Man Show" in Grand Theft Auto 4.

this reminds me of when i was at a local mma event, the crowd was crazy because of the local fighters. during one of the matches, there was a fighter named craig. all his friends were sitting next to us, and when they announced his name, they were hollering "kill him craig" "destroy him" etc. with whistling and yelling. when the fight got to the ground, one of them proceeds to yell "oh shit craig, jiujitsu his ass!!" "jiujitsu the shit out of him craig" at that point all my teammates went from being annoyed by them to laughing uncontrollably.

I was fighting in Mobile AL and against a local fighter. You couldn't even hear my music from all the booing when I came out. They went NUTS when he came out.

After I choked him out the crowd was silent, you could hear a pin drop. It was epic.
