    Well that blows, but I wouldn't bet against some better promotion and marketing and a possible increase in ratings after a few. :x:

    yeah its their first show so I can see that happening but Im pretty sure they anticipated this outcome before hand. I mean with all businesses you have to take a hit before hand and then eventually you start making a profit. Im sure when they finalize the hdnet deal that alone will help bolster their ratings.

    although they're a new promotion, they've entered established industry with an established market base and familiar product

    they're not exactly starting from square one

    MMA isn't exactly the national sport of Japan, it's a niche sport. Less popular than in the USA from what I've heard.

    I dont know about that, considering MMA fighters have contracts with Gillete, Nike and other huge companys overthere. Youll see them up on billboards and what not, MMA is much more mainstream in Japan.

    yeah the japanese love martial arts. The ufc has never been able to get a venue filled as big as some of the pride ones
