I've been told to come up with a nice new drafting computer for the lab...it will also be our only windows machine so it will be doing a bit of firewire vid capture stuff and other minor things that require windows.

    Requirements:
    at least 1.5gb ram
    Dual DVI vid card
LCD panels that can do at least 1600x1200 and anything 19" or bigger is fine
    somewhat fast HD
any decently fast AMD or Intel chip should be good
budget of around $1500US + monitors

Here's what I came up with:
    http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishList.asp?DEPA=1&position=current&submit=add&item=22-144-160

    Intel 3.0 800MHz FSB HT
    Corsair 4x512MB ram
    Matrox Parhelia 256MB
    WD 74GB 10000RPM HD
Antec SOHO file server w/ 430W PS
    Asus P4P800-E Deluxe
NEC DL DVD burner as the drive
    2x Viewsonic VP210s

I think that gives me pretty fast components where I need them fast, plus all the other stuff is built in to the MB. The vid card I really like the monitors I think are the same as Dell 2001's which I've heard good things about.

    Any suggestions or changes welcome
