Anyone know where I can get a hard case like that? That's exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for.

It looks pretty cool but also looks like it might rattle around in there.

They do... it's just a cheap plastic case that the DPMS comes in. Although it does lower the initial cost of purchase because you don't have to buy a bag right away, as you can carry your gun, mags, optic, etc. in that case...

    Nuts

I guess I should make a separate thread for cases/bags after I dredge up some search info. :hs:

Hard cases are a pain in the ass and I only use them for storage at home. When you bring like 4-5 rifles with you shooting all those hard cases need somewhere to go. I prefer soft cases with good padding and a range bag for everything else.

Yep... don't believe some of the elitist bullshit floating around the internet about DPMS either.

Soft cases are better if your just going down to the local range. You do need a hard case if you fly with your guns or do some serious out of town stuff like big rifle matches.

I like the uncle mikes assualt weapon case for a soft rifle bag. For a hard rifle case I like the SKB dual rifle case. You won't believe how many cases, and bags I have. I have a weakness for luggage. I must have a dozen different backpacks, every range bag imaginable, 20 some rifle or pistol soft cases, and a half dozen fancy hard cases. Laptop bags, fishing tackle stuff to store everything imaginable. If I buy something I got to have a case or bag to put it in, if not multiple cases and bags.

A few of us here went in on some cheap fabric bags from cheaper than dirt. I think they were like $50. As far as I know, we were all happy. Look for posts from time around feb-march.

Yeah, I found that thread and they've been out of stock on those bags for a few months. :(

    Thanks, though.

Storage at home is why I want to buy some hard cases.

I'm going with soft stuff for range trips.

^That's likely the DPMS lite. The upper doesn't have a dust cover or a forward assist. I think those are the only two differences, but not completely sure :dunno:
