I bet it is, how many rounds of .357 can you fire off before your wrist needs a cast?

it reminds me of a gun used in wwii. i think it was called the liberty pistol or freedom pistol. or something like that. it was a single shot .45acp and bore striking resemblance to that one above.

Would be more of a novelty if it was more like a derringer and used a lot of a smaller round.
    Like .22 or something

It's just a derringer with a different grip design. You can get derringers in most pistol calibers and 410 shotgun. Nothing new.

At least a derringer usually gives you two chances to miss.

I have absolutely no idea why anyone would carry something like that or a derringer when we have more modern things like the p3at.

The Liberator was intended for distribution via OSS and the like to partisans, resistance fighters, underground movements, etc. It was supposed to be an easily-concealed weapon for use in surprise attacks, ideally bushwhacking lone and/or unsuspecting soldiers with the intent to scavenge their weapon afterwards and discard the Liberator. Effective range was perhaps a dozen yards and it's questionable whether or not it would have lasted for more than the 9 or so rounds it shipped with. No idea whether or not they were actually used as planned. I read that a crapload of them were made but few were distributed.

1 million were churned out in less than 3 months:
A purpose-built, mass-produced zip gun. Surprising that they have such collectors' value.

That thing would only be good for an assasination weapon. :nono:

the difference with that gun is that there is little if any grip to actually hold on to. In the small revolvers there's at least a handle or grip to hold onto

Not true, most encounters involve less than 5 shots, right? So just tuck a few of these puppies in your pocket, get some two fisted John Woo action going, then go for the New York reload. :coold:
