Today I decided I would try and download my old DOS games onto my Dell windows XP computer. One game downloaded just fine, but the other one needed some information that I can't seem to find on my computer. It can run fine with no sound or music, but I would like to figure out the combination so that the program can run with it.

First it asks for the Soundsource with many options like soundblaster, Microsoft 8 or 16 and Pro audio spectrum.
It does this with music as well.

Then it asks Sound I/O 220 or 240
    Sound IRQ 2,3,5,7, or 10
    Sound DMA 0, 1, or 3
    and
    Music I/O 330 or 300

Not only am I pretty confused as to what this all means, I also don't know where to find this information out.
If anyone could help that would be fabulous!

for dos, you used to have to manually set your hardware up. those are the various configuration settings that you need to use to interact with your sound card. if one game works, you should see what you have set in there and use those settings for the other games.

    Wow, that takes me back!

What you can do is go into your Device Manager and look at your sound card to see what IRQ it's using and whatever else you can find in there.

Your best bet would be to have a look at DOS emulation sites to see what they cover in their FAQs.
