Stopped by to say hi and sit around and chitchat with the old guys today and one of them had to point out the stuff they got in this week.
Now I'm debating on what to get.

Taurus 1911. pretty decent quality. $600 new (black)
KelTec PF-9 Not bad at all. Like my P11, thiner though. $340 new
Taurus PT92F, chrome. Always liked them. big but with my hands, not a problem. $375 used.

I keep telling myself "maybe one" but more likely will go back down and walk out with 2 or even all 3.

I took my girlfriend to the gun store today to look at different guns that would work for carry for her.

She now understands my constant obsession with guns...

She can't decide between a 642LS, 642 with Crimson Laser grips, or a P3AT.

I  my gf. :big grin:

I usually go back in there with printouts from buds or whittaker's and talk them down. All 3 are over MSRP (even the pt92 used is more than a new one) so gonna print and head back in a bit. :big grin:

They always seem overpriced to me compared to buying online on forums or something.

usually, especially in a small town where they have no competition.
I fixed that problem though by looking at a gun there then buying it online, having it shipped to the store and even after paying the transfer fee I saved a ton. Now they just usually come down to the same cost as online + transfer fee.

They can do better on that Taurus 1911. Few shops down here have it for 500-550 out the door NIB.

The problem with my gun shop is that they wont take any transfers from other FFLs even if it's from a individual party. WTF?!?!?!

I was going to buy a shotgun from a shop up in PA. The guy at the store said the only way they would do it was cost of the gun + 20% and if was a personal sale they wouldnt do it.

Regardless I am never going to buy anything from them again.

I love my local place... although it's way too tempting to spend way too much money there

Should be able to get that pt1911 for $499 whch is what i paid for mine. Ive seen them as low as 469 in Utah, but $499 is the typical price for the one without the integrated rail.

Yep, Buds has them cheap which is what I printed out to take in.
I want the rail though so may just buy from Bud's anyways.

i hate going because all they ever have is:

lever actions, revolvers, bolt action hunting rifles, or mosin nagants and SKS's that I can buy online cheaper including shipping.

Yea fuck gun stores and their overpriced garbage and misinformation spreading. Watching those old dudes take advantage of uninformed folks just rubs me wrong. Gun shows are getting that way for me too.

Just gotta find a good one. I'm really lucky here. Have 2 decent stores that sell for very fair prices within 5 miles.

mine literally will try to sell law enforcement turn ins as LNIB. :ugh:

i realize an officer will probably take good care of the gun, but they usually look like they have been dragged behind a truck.

My store sucks, especially since I'm not a hunter and am not over 40.
