Don't know which receiver to choose...

    definitely HK. Among other reasons Onkyo inflates their power ratings while HK underates theirs.

    independant testing done by a number of different sources. I'll dig up a few links later on. HK's power ratings are aways full-bandwidh, all-channels driven, and always meet or exceed their rating in actual testing. Onkyo rates their receivers with a single channel driven (if you say your 5 channel receiver has 100W per channel, but really can only produce 100w in a single channel at a time, what good is that?) I have to double check but i think Sound+Vision tested an Onkyo 595 which produced a max of 35W per channel :rofl:
