Is this weird? Am I doing something wrong?

I only get sore if I haven't worked out in a while, but after that no matter how hard I work in the gym I won't get sore at all. I will see strength gains though. :dunno:

I think my body just adjusts a lot I guess...

I'm only asking because my friends that work out routinely will say they're sore and I am not at all...

I kind of like the feeling of soreness too because it tells me I worked out hard the day before... :hs:

I did 5x5 on deadlifts two days ago, all near my 5 rep max, and my lower back is killing me today.

Sounds like your body could handle more volume. Why not add a few more sets? You will get sore if you do enough.

    no... I swear to god I won't

I did 5 sets of squats, leg curls, leg extensions, and leg presses and my legs aren't sore at all

you need to change up your workout. Drastically if this has been going on for a while.

If it was a routine problem don't you think I would be able to get sore every once in a while if I "accidently" worked hard?

    switch shit up?

I just got back to working out last week.

I've done dropsets, partials, etc, before, none of this causes soreness.

    that's definitely not it...

first day back I went really light and didn't do much, but was extremely sore the next day. next few times I work out 10x harder and don't get sore at all.

you serious? I'm normally sore but I had always heard that just because you are uber sore it doesn't mean you had a good workout.

the fact that you're just back to working out does toss out switching things up. I dunno what you're doing wrong. maybe you're confusing cardiovascular exhaustion with muscle exhaustion.

    actually, it is it.

99% of people in the gym have zero intensity in there workouts, they just think they do.

    get fucking wild man.

Maybe my definition of sore is different?

If I flex my legs I can feel some soreness, but it doesn't hurt to walk.

just dont worry about it man.

If they gains are coming and the weight is going up and you think you have enough intensity just stick to it.

I haven't been sore in months and I've grown more now then ever.

    well I'm no expert....

the only thing I know is that when I come back after time off the first week or so I'm sore 24/7 and it sucks.....after that it's just a level of soreness that is bearable butstill there....
