my brother fucked up and didn't send anything to my mom, not even a card, then made excuses about how he didn't have time to go shopping :ugh: . I felt bad enough that I didn't get my gift out on time, even though i started looking 2 weeks ago. I have the hardest time shopping for my parents, because it's like the gifts always have to be perfect. :hs: Oh well, hopefully she feels better when my gift gets there.

Sooo, my mom is on this only seafood diet thing (because just Oprah said that bloody meat is bad for you because it stays in your body for 14 days...(yea, I have a pop culture Oprah mom)) and so I made this huge seafood meal. I dropped $94 on ingredients and cooked for hours. And then my mom never came home from work (She manages a hotel and they had some event and she had to oversee things). So I was a lil upset, and ended up spending the night with my boifriend.

Today, I leave work earlier than planned because my lil sister was domestically abused, and after leaving the most ghetto of hospitals in DC <shudder> I drop my mom's car off at home and treat my lil sister (this is her first year as a mother) and my mom to several lobsters. OMG, we each really had 3 whole lobsters each, and my lil sister also managed to eat a huge crabcake!!! I was stuffed after 3 lobsters and a salad.

So dysfunctional family days out can end up fun. I learned something.
