ok, first of all i want to apologize for making ANOTHER thread about this, but know that i have gone back and read the other Donnie Darko threads and they have been extremely useful. but there are still things that i want clarity on...or just some insight if you will... i just saw the movie for the first time about a week ago and watched it again just last night. it's an AWESOME movie, and i haven't been able to get it out of my head. there are so many things that baffle me about it though. like has anyone noticed that this movie creates somewhat of a parallel with religion? like debating predestination and also freedom of choice? this really stands out when Donnie is talking with his science teacher. i decided that the science teacher reflects rationalism, while Donnie represtents confusion over something greater- maybe purpose or even God. anyone else have insights or something to add?
