GF broke up with me in August, had a couple one night flings since, got set up for a date and bailed after, because she reminded me of an ex I have that's stalking me (2 years). Another one night fling, and now I'm possibly dating the one-night-flinger. But we're 3 hrs apart, and never see each other, and seldom get to talk on the phone, so I don't know how serious it is between us...although the sex when we're together is pretty wicked.

Now the ex's aunt, a friend of mine, is trying to set me up with a friend of hers, about my age (32) loves the outdoors and camping. Lives 1 1/2 hrs away, but often comes to these parts to visit the ex's aunt.

I have no idea what to do?

You only live once. Don't overthink the issue and have a great time!

I hate trying to be hooked up by family members because there is always that expectation, and if things don't work you you have to deal with the backlash. Who knows though, maybe it will work out. I think you should arrange a screening of her first though to make sure she at least meets your demonds physically...

Not a family thing --- she's my ex's aunt (the setter-upper). I've known her for years, aand thought she was pulling my leg. SHe's a very silly person.

I'd buy that second excuse before the first one. Anytime a girl says "The date was so much of what I wanted that I became too scared and had to end things for good!" then it's BS. It's nothing more than an excuse. Unless there was some mental problems then I won't buy it.

Yeah, this is the only corollary to this situation, but I didn't bring it up in the original thread as it wasn't applicable.

Anyways, when someone comes from a traumatic past marked by chaos, they're often unable to engage in normal healthy relationships (too boring) so they seek to recreate the chaos of earlier years in their intimate relationship.

Sort of a self-healing impulse, I suppose, to work out old issues in a more recent context, and try and work through all that crap.
Unfortunately usually, it just ends up putting you through serial crappy relationships over and over.

Guys go to women who use them and abuse them.
Girls moan about why they keep hooking up with the "same" loser over and over again.

Therapy. Its the way to escape the maze.
