    What does everyone think about it...anyone ever use it?

    What do you think about using smith machine for bench on this routine?:noes:

    Whats the reasoning behind using smith for bench?

    That and the rest/pause system it would suck trying that with a barbell.

    Everyone on here hates on the Smith. The only thing I've ever seen that a Smith is bad for is squats.

    DC looks and sounds appealing to me, I've considered trying it when I've been lifting seriously for a bit longer.

    is it really that intense of a plan?

    Im gonna read up on it for my next routine in a few months after I finish up the Bill Starr, get diet under control, and cut.

    yeah they use the smith machine with ridiculous amount of weight for some of their exercises. cant argue with the results though :)

    for somer reason whenever I went to use the smith to bench I felt awkward...To unrack the smith at my gym its a pain to twist it out.

    The bar on the smith machine weighs a bit less as well. And its a bit easier since you dont have to balance the bar on it.

    They fluctuate, some are 25, some are 15, some are neither.

    dependant on a few things, including the amount of lubrication on the machine. more friction = more resistance

    Arent there even some that the bar kinda goes up b itself with mininal push and comes down really slow?
