It will allow you to eat slower...letting your body tell you that you're full. Thats about it....also wont make your stomach work as hard to breakdown the food....but as far as nutritional or fat lose wise, no.

    great post.

i realize there is information that suggests excessive chewing can aide and speed up the digestion process, but in the end, unless you are swallowing and then shitting out entire chunks of undigested food, it's not going to matter. it all ends up being digested anyway.

there are more important things to worry about.

actually..... technically it would make it worse. This is a bit rediculous but the less refined food is the better, just like whole oats are better than ground oats. The less you chew it the longer it would take for your stomach to digest it and there for spiking your insulin levels less creating a longer lasting supply for your body.

seriously though don't go choking on your shit. thats just a "technically" kinda thing.

digestion starts in the mouth with digestive enzymes..fast eating/no chewing can lead to acid reflux as well

a close friend/training partner trying out for the US speedskating team was having really bad "acid stomach" in the mornings after upping his calories by about 1000.. when we'd eat together i noticed he had pretty bad ADD in general and would basically inhale food.. i started pointing it out all the time and after a week of making an effort to chew, his stomach pains went away with no other diet changes :)

Dude, no. Chew it enough so that you don't choke and die and all is fine.
