All black (maybe with some silver but simple looking), no side window, mid tower size (nothing huge, big enough for a 12x9.6 mobo), preferably with a 500w power supply? None of this crap with lights, or transformer looking shit...nice and simple.

Silverstone TJ-04. One of the BEST cases on the market :)

Get an enermax/sparkle/fortron/pcp&c power supply and you're golden :)

yep. They're awsome cases. I don't deal with the "crap" that 95% of the people on this forum recommend... It's all crap.

I stick with the higher-end gear, and there are REASONS you should use that. It's like the difference between a Kia and a Acura.

I was looking at them on Newegg... a review I read said something about long pci-e cards might not fit. any issues with that for you?

There is a cage at the bottom of the case that fits 4x3.5" hard drives internaly. If you have ALL 4 filled, then a full-length card won't fit in every spot. If the card is 1/2" shorter than full-length, then it's fine, or if you don't have all 4 drives installed, then it's fine.

However, there is ONE slot that fits perfectly where the last 1/2" of the card fits between two of the drives. I've done this when I needed a Promise SX4 RAID5 card installed with 4 SATA drives.

I'd probably only need 1, maybe 2 drives for this system. it'll be my gaming rig, so I won't need a ton of storage space. I plan to get an external drive fairly soon for LAN party files and such anyway.

I'm a big fan of Antec cases and my current machine is in a Sonata II. I would highly recommend it. It does have two ugly LEDs on the front, but they're only ugly if you plug them in, so I didn't. Other than them, the case is plain black with two tiny LEDs (power and HDD) on the front - which you could also unhook if you don't like them.

I saw a lot of people on here have the Antec P-180. I kinda like the layout of that case.

I just cut and pasted the name from your post into Newegg's search and that's what came up.

could you post a link? Because perhaps you saw the TJ-03 or TJ-06... Both hover between $250 and $275.

However, I sell the TJ-04 for $110. So if I'm that much cheaper than newegg, you should just buy from me :p

I like the internal watercooling unit built inside the TJ-04 displayed on their website.

I did it again and its the -03. Its the only one that came up when I searched on "Silverstone TJ-04". It looks like they sell some other Silverstones but no TJ-04 or -06.

There were three reasons I got the case from HEC Group (see my first post for link), despite the off-brand name:

    1. It's all steel, except for a detachable front fascia. No weak aluminum or plastic structural parts.
    2. It was the only mATX case I ever saw that looked nice. (I know you don't need mATX, but it was one of the reasons nonetheless; they have an ATX version of it, too.)
    3. It gets the front USB/FireWire ports UP OFF THE FUCKING FLOOR. None of the other cases I've seen in this thread do that. It doesn't sacrifice a drive bay to do it, either.

Since the time I bought it, I discovered that, despite its off-brand name and its low low price, it is very sturdy when everything's bolted in place, and everything fits perfectly. I've never had to jam anything into place due to poor fit (including CD drives, which are notorious for not lining up with the front fascia), all the screw holes line up just right, and it has a nice hinged door instead of a crappy sliding panel. The paint is durable, as well; it has one scratch on it after five years of moving from place to place every few months, and that's because I dropped a screwdriver on it. I even bought four more to build computers for my family members.

So yeah, you can spend $150 on a name-brand case, but I can vouch for this one's quality.

Sorry, but less than $100 for a fucking *SILVERSTONE* is a steal. Take the Silverstone. (It's steel, too, btw). And not only does it have QUALITY, it looks freakin' AMAZING in person.

    This isn't a normal case... It's art.
