Here's one for those who work as photo assistants.

So of course there is the flat rate fee for a 10hr day, and after 10hrs it goes into time and a half. I was wondering though, at any point does it go into double time? I worked 17hrs yesterday which is by far the longest work day i've ever had, so i was just wondering in that situation does the overtime rate stay at time and a half?

Yes. I forget where the break is but we've paid double time in the past after a certain hour. I want to say it's after 15 hrs but don't quote me.

It would make sense that if there was, it would be at 14hrs, since in most industries, after 4hrs of 1.5 is when you go into double time. But i've never been on any shoots going longer than that till yesterday, nor have any of the assistants i know, so i'm not sure.

10 hours is the standard day for the video/film industry.

Might also depend on the city/state laws. But hell, 17 hours should warrant double time or some hookers and blow.

:werd: I'm doing 60-70hr weeks now staring at the same logo and Pantone 108 Yellow all day. Gotta love the advertising world.

I think everyone has to pull weeks like that at some point in their life.

My longest week ever so far has been 96 hours. I have the paystub pinned up in my office.

ok, for all those talking about how many hours they've worked before, are we talking about working as a photo assistant?

If so, did you get double time at any point?
