I'm watching the Petite Le Mans on speed, and the C5R's are shifting rather quick. The on board shot doesn't show the driver

    :dunno:

Oh, I've heard them :eek3: We had an ALMS race here last year in DC, course, they cancelled it after the inaugural running because the damn people living year the track complained about the noise.

I remember hearing about that, BASTAGES!
I was pissed when ALMS stopped coming to Mid-Ohio. I got to hob nob with the Pratt & Millen/GM people in 2001.

Kind of like the track that was built, and people started building houses around it after it was up and running, and started complaining about the noise, and in the end, making them impose noise restrictions..damn I can't remember the track now...

The C5R for the longest time had a regular H tranny, and it was more than reliable. However the increased competition from the Prodrive Ferrari (and some other cars coming soon ;) ) lead Corvette to develop a sequential transmission for the car. It still has the clutch pedal for starting the car from a stop and the driver can still clutch shift it to save wear on the system, as they often do at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
