Let's say I eat 200 calories today. What does my body consume as fuel first, fat or muscle? Or both? I assume fat since that's the body's energy store or something...

muscle is expensive for the body to maintain, it takes calories just to keep it. fat is dead weight.

for example: you own 2 cars, a truck (muscle) and a vw beetle (fat). you make a $500 monthly payment on the truck, but the beetle is paid in full. if you lose your job and have to get rid of one of them, which one is going first?

that article is misleading. largely speaking for a small reduction in calories you will burn fat, but you actually burn both fat and muscle. you can't just eat 200 calories a day and expect 100% of your energy to come from fats.

if that was the case people could just stop eating for days until they start rockin 5% body fat naturally
