I was wondering since that is my only way of connecting to the internet in my apartment and at school.

Ahh... modern technology is great. I remember going over to a buddy's house to get on BBS' because he had a 9600 baud modem and my 2400 baud was a POS.

And now we have short range RF technologies that provide hundreds of times more bandwidth than my old modems. Hell, at work I don't even really get concerned until someone tells me an OC-48 (2.488Gbps) is down.

I remember our 9600 modem. I would pimp compuserve on that thing.

It's kinda scary moving away from pc's for the first time.

My resolution was made more firm today after working on an office pc loading up documents in acrobat and the program has crashed 5 times or so in the 3 hours i've been working on it.

man i must have gotten to the party late...i first saw the intarweb on my old 386 PC with a 14.4 GVC external modem. my brother had free internet access through his university so he set it up. it was crazy at the time...i remember him putting Netscape on there, must have been pre-Internet Explorer. that Netscape was so old school that it didn't have the planet logo and all that garbage, just a huge-ass "N" that faded in and out.

Did you mess with BBS any back in the day?

I grew up in Houston, and one of the things we always would do is go and dial up to the Atomic Cafe BBS at midnight on the first day of every month and download the new BBS directory. I'd set it to print on the computer and go back to bed. By morning it was all done (usually about 50 pages IIRC) and me and my friends would all show up and school and start deciding if we were going to get onto any of the new BBS, etc.

Those were the days... Spend 3 or 4 days downloading a game that took 4 floppy disks and think it was the absolute shit.
