Does stretching and flexing muscles reduce muscle waste?

    or slow down how fast they whither away? I haven't been getting to the gym much lately. Seems like stretching and flexing could help keep them up some even if not much?

    id work on a routine

    10 minutes stretching of muscles each morning, followed by 3 sets of 12 reps flexing, make sure you dont forget to do overhead flex's and shit too, or else you'll just have massive bis

    someone posted a study how vigorous stretching helped maintain lean mass or something. this was a while ago

    I can recall reading a study or two about static contractions preserving LBM.

    i just read a study that showed a decrease in strength during workouts due to stretching for more than 15 sec.

    like a noticeable amount of strength decrease. ill try to find it

    It's true I've read the study. You most likely desensitize the stretch reflex (muscle spindles) which is very helpful in generating extra strength. This is temporary.
