So I've seen a few posts regarding leg extensions being bad for your knees, which I understand. Your feet don't have any solid support and it causes a sheering force on your knees.

I also saw a post that said that leg pressing is bad for your knees as well.

I also saw a post that said that squats are NOT bad for your knees if done with a free barbell, but they are bad for your knees if they are done in the smith machine.

Maybe I'm missing something, I realize that squats are a more dynamic movement that allows for free motion of your body. Is the damage done to your knees when leg pressing similar to the reason why the smith machine is bad for your knees :dunno:
