pre-fight commentary from Dana White. was he hinting something in his comments here?

Saturday's fight is big for both Loiseau (15-5-0) and Swick (11-1-0).

"It's a tough fight (to call)," said UFC president Dana White. "Loiseau obviously didn't look great in his fight against Rich Franklin but Rich Franklin's the best middleweight in the world. And it's a huge step up for Mike Swick.

"It's definitely a chance for Loiseau to shine again and get people to stop thinking about how bad he looked against Rich Franklin."

White sees it as a well-matched fight. But he also sees it as a must-win for Loiseau.

"No doubt about it," he said.

I think Loiseau is overrated. His wins (that I've seen anyways) aren't that impressive and he relies on his elbows for the win too much.

That being said, Loiseau didn't looked fazed by Swick at all. He just didn't do a damn thing in the fight until the third round though.

Hopefully, he'll get more motivation and put up a better fight if he comes back.

From the rumors I read, Yves asked to be released from his contract.

Probably because Pride's Lightweight scene is much bigger.

I think within a year or less the UFC LW division is going to be pretty much even with Pride's

I agree, the UFC LW division is doing great, and they are actually bringing in good new talent to make it better... unlike the rest of their divisions. Joe Lauzon over Jens Pulver is a huge upset, and will put him in the running now too. But seriously, that dude needs a new nickname.

UFC LW division is going to be their top class in a year in my opinion.

i dont think he looked bad vs franklin. I mean the man took a fucking pounding for 5 rounds, has anyone recently stood more than 4 rounds with him?? Not only did he goto 5 rounds he got his ass pounded and even knocked franklin. He had alittle ring rust after being fucking pumbled for 25 mins. Maybe he wanted to lose so he wouldnt have to fight franklin again.
