does it matter what i eat?

    does it matter what i eat if im getting enough cal, protein, fats, carb in my diet if im just gaining muscle?

    therefore, can i eat junk food not caring if i get fat cause ill be burning it when im lifting?

    if i ever eat more, ill lift heavier/more

    you can clean bulk or dirty bulk.
    clean bulking = eating healther foods to get the calories, less fat..makes it easier to cut
    dirty bulk = eat everything, by doing so you'll be consuming more fat and getting more fat (while adding muscle)..it's easier to do, but you'll have more work when u decide to cut.

    dirty bulk @ 4000 calories
    vs
    clean bulk @ 4000 calories

    differences? not a damn thing, it's just easier to get 4000 calories dirty bulking. You will not get fatter dirty bulking, you will not stay leaner clean bulking. From a health standpoint clean bulking might be a little better

    i agree that they're the same calories..but if you eat 4,000 calories worth of mcdonalds vs. 4,000 calories worth of fish, chicken, steak...tell me there's no difference.

    No difference at all or no difference as far as total weight gain goes?

    Someone who clean bulks will have a much better blood panel in the end then someone who eats fast food all time time.

    For some health also matters, not just pure size.

    There's a big difference in terms of macronutrient breakdown and ratios.

    exactly you would be able to get better ratios for you p/c/f with clean eating comparing to eating shit like mcdonalds all day.

    Ok, then eat 4000 calories a day of Budweiser and chocolate cake and compare it to someone who bulks on 4000 calories of chicken, fish, beef, and vegetables.

    I'm sure their lipid profiles are going to look quite different.

    But for a more practical reason, it's a lot easier to manage calories and p/c/f intake when clean bulking. I know how many calories and grams of protein are in a 4oz chicken breast or 8oz piece of steak. I can't say the same about a large pizza, some chicken wings, and a pitcher of beer.

    Can it be yellow cake with chocolate frosting instead? And a $5 little ceasars pizza has like 2200-2300 calories in it. I can put one of those down for a meal and still be hungry .......

    comparing beer to food. You think when people on here mean eating mcdonalds 8-10x a day? It's just not being so anal on your diet, eating a pizza when you want, eating some cookies, eating pizza rolls, some poptarts. They all have nutritional value unlike beer

    But a calorie is a calorie so its ok.

    Look, cheating a little on a diet is fine. Eating a pizza every now and then isn't going to hurt you and it helps keep you sane. I'm talking about people who take the Pokesteve approach to bulking and eat insane amounts of horrible shit.

    What about ever so often, if daily cals are lower than target. Let's say if you're trying to hit ~2500 and you've satisfied protein and other req. for the day but are only @ 2000 cals, fats are low. Could I have a couple of tacos or something similiar? This would not be done on a daily basis, and overfeed would still be done on sunday. Is this acceptable?
