Does it matter in what order you do your exercises?

I usually start off deadlifting(I like to get the goofy looking exercises out of the way first), then i jump in to bench presses and after that I just randomly pick exercises such as skullcrushers, curls, etc. I usually work my upper body first then when i'm done with that I go to legs with squats etc. Does it really matter in which order I go in?

P.S. I work out my whole body in a day.

    Jesus, haven't you learned anything?

Yes, it matters. Get the big compound movements out of the way first. Pick a routine that you didn't make and stick to it.

do the big hard compound exercises first obviously. Can't tell if this thread is supposed to be a joke or what though.

god man, are you serious? goofy looking exercises?

here... work your compound movements first, then move on to isolation exercises

deads, squats should be first... they work more muscles...

btw, this is a serious answer and it might be the only one you get in the whole thread
EDIT: kit's response and Rice Rice Baby's response are serious, too

You should work opposing muscles each exercise. For example, after doing a biceps exercise you should do a triceps exercise or after a back exercise do a chest exercise.

I do three to four exercises per bodypart, I do a few more with back. I usually mix it up.

I start with Compound on the first lift, Isolation, Compound, Isolation.

thanks everybody. Some dude at the gym was telling me that I should focus on isolated exercises instead of compound ones.rofl:

I'm glad I have my F&N family to steer me the right way:bowdown:

i always do compound exercises first, then move to isolation

    for example, on back day:
    deadlifts
    bb rows
    lat pulldowns
    db pullovers
pullups (compound, but i usually do them to failure to finish)

This is actually a serious comment, but was it Pur that was saying sometimes he doesnt like doing something like Deads early in his routine because it gives his lower back too much of a pump too early? Correct me if I'm wrong (on quote or otherwise) but couldn't this be applied to other compound movements?

And this is coming from a guy that does his compounds first 99% of the time.

^Well if it's giving pur too big of a pump, that doesn't neccesarily mean it's giving you too big of a pump.
