And I am getting 200g+ of protein a day. I don't really eat many carbs. My diet is about 3600 cals a day. Does it really matter if I am getting a large percentage of my cals from fat?

    2000 calories?

That's about 16 cups of 2% milk... which is pretty much what I was drinking when I started bulking last year.

Now... I'm not sure if it's because I started too fast...(went from maybe 2k calories to 3.5k) but while I did put on muscle I also put on a fair amount of fat. Is that because I drank so much milk or because I was too high above maintenance? I wouldn't know.

If I had to do that again the main thing I would change is that I would go slowly from 2k calories a day to 3k calories. Take it easy. if you're too high above maintenance you will put on too much fat.

I'm not sure how big you are right now and how much you eat at maintenance... but just go super slowly. If your maintenance is 2000 calories, eat 2250 calories for a few weeks. If your weight doesn't go up add an other 250 calories and wait for a few weeks. Keep the weight gain slow enough.... 0.5-1 pound per week, no more.

    Not really.

Just have plenty of water too.

Really you should try eating more real food, and don't forget fruit and vegetables too. You're missing out on a lot of fibre, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients etc etc if you get a huge %age of your calories from milk.

I drink around 4 pints of it a day - roughly 1000kcal worth. Works fine for me.

not really a big deal, life isnt perfect and you gotta get the cals somewhere. get lots of water in you and watch your other macros.

Yes, he is an absurd genetic freak and on gear, but Dave Gulledge bulked to his powerlifter-lean 300+ lbs drinking a gallon of milk a day

Put that way, it doesn't seem that bad..

That's like two protein shakes, made with milk instead of water.

I was just going with what Kotu said.. he said 16 oz?

Since I'm low carbing and drastically counting every tiny crumb that enters my mouth, I'm not drinking milk. It's been about 9 months - I have no idea what the nutritional info for milk is..:hsd:
