apparently I have flat feet...never really knew it and it was a minute discussion amongst a few people at the medical processing that fixed it...I've not had any problems being in the Army because it...9yrs and counting.

yeah but its considerably worse with flat feet.
take what your feet hurt like, then multiply it by 3.

why wouldn't you, are you in a real hurry to get to Iraq or something? not that it wouldn't be commendable of you but if you are a canadian living in Canada, minus well just join the canadian forces.

If it is actually documented in your medical records that you have flat feet and and have had issues then yes it may prevent you from joining. If you just have flat feet then no it won't prevent you from joining.

If this is the case then why are you wanting to join? You should know your own physical limitations and how much you can endure better than others. There are lots of people in the military with flat feet but perhaps your pain tolerance is less than theirs?

I was told I have flat feet.

Its now classified as a variation of normal. it was just a 'fyi, you have flat feet' comment and that was it.

as long as you have full range of motion, it gives you no trouble, and you can do the duck walk, you're ok.

All you have to do is wet your foot and step on concrete or a paper bag. If your footprint looks like a stretched out pancake, then you have flat feet.

No it doesn't matter. You can have flat feet and join.

I did. And when they got to basic they told the people with flat feet to come up to them to see what the best shoes were for them.

I was worried about my Army son the whole time he was growing up. He has flat feet, and he has wanted to be in the Army for a long time. They didn't think twice about accepting him with his flat feet - and with the advice he was given when he got to basic, he has not had any problems at all with his feet. (other than the normal sore feet, numb toes, etc that everyone that ever goes through Army basic gets)

I don't know if it was the flat feet or the fact that for my whole life, almost my entire foot is callused, but I was the only person that didn't get blisters once throughout basic in my platoon. After that 15k road march, people had like half their feet covered with blisters, but I was lucky and had nothing. :)
