As some of you may know, I have recently started working out. I'm trying to take it slow, but I've been getting so sore I can barely wipe my own ass. I was wondering how you hardcore lifters do this everyday. Does the soreness decrease in duration as you progress? Do you guys just learn to live with it?

The only time I get sore is when I do something that I don't do frequently, like Goodmornings and even then it's pretty mild. It definately diminishes as get used to it.

First couple of weeks are always your most sore... usually when you try new exercises/try old ones you haven't done in awhile you get quite sore as well.

my chest and legs still do. Right after deads I can't walk for a few minutes. Its typically my connecting hardware that hurts more than the muscle though. I've been lifting hard for a while now, not always sore, and making gains.

i get sore the day after every workout... some parts of me stay sore longer than others, though

for example, my chest stays sore for 2 days or so

the middle of my back, since i've started doing deadlifts, is sore pretty much all the time

My lower back is about the only thing that stays sore now, and its basically 24/7. Not because its injured, but because I work it hard and its so fuckin integral.

Is it ok to resume working out the same muscle groups when they're still sore, or should I wait until i've almost completely recovered? I did chest, triceps, and shoulders on monday, is it ok to do them again on thursday?

I think more than one person will recommend you don't spend an entire day on a tiny muscle, when you spend one day on 2 huge muscle groups. Not to mention legs.
