I'm not sure what it's called, but you basically start off with the amount of weight where you can only do one rep. then you move down 10lbs and do as many reps as you can do, then drop down another 10lbs and continue until you're at the bar and can barely lift the bar.

I remember people talking about that several years ago... does anyone actually do this in practice? What are the disadvantages / advantages to something like this?

    I'm a noob.

do you keep going lower or do you stop after 2 drops?

I've been starting at 20 below my max.. doing 10 reps, adding 10 lbs, doing 10 more reps, then adding another 10 lbs to hit my max and do 10 of those.

If you are putting weight on that looks like the upside of a pyramid.

I'm just going by what some poster in the apartment gym complex says to do.

Should I be dropping instead of going up?
