Does anyone use Anytime Fitness?

  1. I am considering getting a membership. They are open 24/7 and would be perfect for someone like me who works 7 days a week, 1 am to 6 am. I feel like I can make it happen.

I've never been to a gym before, and I really need to get back into shape. I was up to running 4 miles a day last year. My grandma died, sister died, fiancee broke up with me, etc. It was a shit year, but fuck all that. I let myself go like a fucking idiot.

I'm 6 ft about 190. Not waay fat, but I do have a belly.

I feel like if I found a place open 24/7, close to where I work - I could just leave the house 1 or 2 hrs early everyday and goto the gym, then goto work.

Any experience using Anytime? Hopefully not a lot of people use the gym at midnight :noes:

I pay $30/month. I love the place. No one is there when I go so it's like having my own gym.

i pay $42 a month at mine. it's always empty when i go, between 4:30 and 5am, but the weight selection is pretty crappy. DBs only go up to 80s

it's nice because it never gets really busy but i'll probably switch to a bigger gym when my contract is up. locations all over the country is nice as well

I was considering opening an Anytime Fitness franchise..... They quality of the equipment is really based on your budget. You can buy through them, and their "affiliates" or go buy your own. I am curious to hear what you guys have to say as well. What did you like/dislike? Were they staffed at night, or did they rely on security technology to keep the gym equipment from walking off/etc? When you were there during the day, how was the staff? Any trainers?

They do have trainers, they are independent, though -- They work on their own "through" the company rather than for it.

They keep up with the place at night with Security Technology -- Key entries -- No staff at all at night. Just cameras and 'emergency' buttons on the walls.

They have 1-2 people on staff there during the day. Generally the manager/employee, or owner/employee. I guess it varies everywhere though.

There are two within 5 minute drive for me.

I drive 30 minutes to my gym.

    That should tell you something.
