Going to be shooting with a friend this coming weekend here http://www.shakedownatetown.com/ I only shot one other event like this and it was a lot of fun being right there on the start line just a few feet from these beasts. I was basically experimenting most of the time playing with shutter speed and the flash so most of my shots were pretty meh :o I'll be working with a sigma 17-70, 70-200, and a 430ex on camera, any useful tips for me? The owner if this car actually ended up using the pic below for a banner at the top of his site so that was kinda cool to me (I know I know lame watermark its not my site so :fawk: )

Set up some remote flashes so you can see the details on the car. Lighting up the tires as the car launches allows you to see the tires wrinkle up.

If anything, rent some flashes and have fun. I've used lensrental.com when I needed stuff. Never had a problem with them.
