Does anyone in here own a Pull up/chin up bar at home?

    I remember reading about someone landing on his head when he tried to use those gravity boots on those doorway chinup bars. I think he won a settlement.

    if you get something like this it can come in handy when you can't make it to the gym. That + dumbells = good place to start if you want to do upper body at home

    i'm glad i only paid 1.55 for it. :rofl:

    i have no place to hook it, except maybe the bathroom, and i'm pretty sure i'll destroy the moulding around the door frame.

    :rofl: i was a skinny kid most of my life. like 6'3" 170 skinny. i sometimes forget i'm not skinny anymore

    I bought a cheap one and mounted it into studs across a hallway.

    It worked well for the first year when I went from 195 to 180 to 200. Just 2 months ago (at about 205) I fell on my ass as all the screws bent on one side and ripped right out of the stud. I was thinking about getting the door frame style but now I'm not sure (~215 now).

    Got one in my door (the screw in ones) from Sports Authority.

    Strong as hell. Supported me @ 220 no problem.

    It also made me a beast at pull-ups. In a few months I could do ~30 full.

    edit: and at my weight at the time that's awesome IMO
