    They have a lot of intelligent articles on there. A lot of practical examples that will allow you to apply the knowledge you get into creating something competent of your own and not end up like most of these hacks that can't write a single line of code and not know a damn thing about usability.

    On the opposite end, I'm sure you look hard enough there are good enough free articles. You just have to find a trusted source... A source that teaches you the CORRECT way and not a broken way, but if you're not familiar with the technology first hand, it would be difficult to tell if it's a good article.

    If it's not much, I'd say go for it.
