I need to get my fat ass in the gym and this seems to be the closest one and cheapest as well when it comes to membership.

For people who do go there or have heard about it, what do you think of this gym ?

If you can use chalk, dead lift, clean, grunt, and they have dumbells that weigh 2x or more than you can currently use then who cares - a gym is a gym.

If you can't grunt then fuck them. Also avoid if they have 'pizza wednesdays.' It's just tooo tempting.

Although I never stepped foot into a Planet Fitness, I heard so many stories about them that I hate them with a passion. I heard you can't do deadlifts because they are too loud and will intimidate others. Also they give out free donuts and pizza.........that is just wrong. I've also heard stories of people being kicked out of Planet Fitness for grunting.

Planet Fitness isn't a place for real men. It sounds like a decent place for out of shape people to go and feel better about themselves. A place they go so that they can say, "I go to a gym".

If you join Planet Fitness we will all lose respect for you.

I lifted at a planet fitness some because my buddy was the manager and didn't give a shit what I did.

Other than not having heavy enough dumbells it wasn't that bad to be honest. Doesn't stack up to a "real" gym but for the average person I'd say its ok plus membership is dirt cheap.

You gotta remember most people could give a fuck about deadlifting 800lbs and throwing chalk around and being all hardcore and whatnot.
