Does anyone here do donkey calf raises?

    I've started working them into my routine. People look at you like you're a little fruity, but they work better then any thing else I've tried.

    you can also do them with the weight belt and hang some plates off the chains

    One gym I went to had a machine to do them so no one had to lay on your back

    :rofl::rofl: you would need to hang the heaviest dumbell in the gym if you wanted to use a belt. hell, that wouldnt even be enough

    ive hung dumbells:ugh::ugh:

    it all depends on how you work the chain around it. its not hard:ugh:

    I once had a 270 pound black man named prince on my back doing donkey calf raises. Lets just say people at my gym were confused - it was a reccentre ;)

    all my gym has for calves is the seated calf raises machine, and no offence to those who use it, but it sucks balls. I haven't found anything what works better then donkeys. Using the chain and plates I can get 4 - 45's in there which lets me work in the 15 - 20 rep range. If you haven't tried them I reccomend it.

    no wonder you can only deadlift 350. didn't you know big calves will give you an extra 50lbs?

    for one thing they are a stabalizing muscle and for another you'll look like a douche

    I do mine on the Hammer Strength V-squat or leg press

    Yeah if that machine's taken then I do leg press calf excercises. I like it though.

    I just asked my workout partner if he was intefrested in adding this into our routine. I ended up getting laughed at :ugh: :o
