I've been lifting for years now. I've gotten a decent amount of compliments on my physique...

But I still always feel like i'm fat and out of shape...

I'd take pics to show you, but i'm obviously self concious, so i'll just give a description.

    Please, be honest.

    I'm 6'00", 225.

My arms are 16.5", and I wear size 34-36 jeans.

    My lifting stats:

    Incline bench: 225x10, 3 sets.
    Deadlift: 185x12, 3 sets
    squat: 265x10, 3 sets

I also play ice hockey twice a week, walk 2 miles every morning, etc.

Maybe I should post this in the 'feel bad for me' section...

    Anyway, thoughts?

yeah i thought what the hell on the deads but those numbers can easily be boosted if you lowered the reps.

    eh, I guess it depends.

I have always been pretty muscular and stronger than a bulk of my friends. In middle school I was skinny, but then in high school I started lifting and just eating like mad and got kinda fat. I wa still muscular, but had a gut. Throughout high school I just progressively got stonger and more muscular but never shaved off of that pesky bell fat (size 36 jeans to give you an idea).
I often felt fat and out of shape, even though i was in pretty decent shape.

Now, I feel a lot better because for the last year I keep a pretty steady routine of clean bulking and cutting. I am 5' 9" 215lbs of mostly muscle and only a 34 waist currently. By the end of my cut I want to be 200lbs even with a 33 waist.... Dieting and shedding off a few pounds and being able to see some abs will do wonder for how in-shape you "feel".

Ok... So I moved deadlift day up a bit early, just to try out the 5x5 method. The reason i've been doing 3x12 is because I pulled my back out about a year ago because I let my form go to shit in order to do more weight, and suffered the concequences. It hurt like a MF'er, so I never went back to heavy weights.

Thanks for embarrassing me out of that.

I do have a bit better numbers for you guys now. Although I know I still need to work on it.

    185x5
    205x5
    225x5
    265x5
    265x5

Now i'm ready for bed. Holy fuck. I love it!

Oh, and as far as flat bench, I've been doing barbell incline, and dumbell flats, so I don't know where i'm at right now with barbell flats, but I do my inclines first, and then do the flats, with 85lb dumbells.

Yeah, I know. Not 100's yet, but jesus, that's a lot of weight...

i feel fat and out of shape b/c of the love handles that hold on for dear life.

if they were to disappear all of the sudden, i'd feel 100% better about myself.
