Someone told me that about 50 people in his church are known to carry guns with them. Ok out of 5000 families thats not many.. But its a good few

Anyone of you guys do it ?
    Worried legally about ramifications?

    I personally these discussions intriguing.

I have to question why CCW is banned in certain places.

You have to ask why CCW is banned.

I would imagine that the CCW owner does not pose a threat to the place he is.

eg. if you ban CCW at schools is it because the CCW owner places a threat on the school or is the school a threatening environment to the owner?

If you ban CCW at banks, what are you achieving?

What does the bank fear? What is the CCW owner likely to do in a bank?

    Or in a church?

From that perspective I cannot imagine why you would ban CCW anywhere.

    (5) On the premises of a church, synagogue, or other established place of religious worship. No posting is required by the Act. Violation is a Class A misdemeanor under Texas Penal Code, §46.035. This subsection shall not apply if the actor was not given effective notice under Texas Penal Code §30.06.

I believe they have to have a sign posted, otherwise you can carry. Correct? :dunno:

§ 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE

    (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license
holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person
under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code,
and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun.
    (b) A license holder commits an offense if the license
holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun
under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code,
regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, on or about the
    license holder's person:

    (6) on the premises of a church, synagogue, or other
    established place of religious worship.

My CHL instructor said schools, churchs, hospitals, amusement parks, sports arenas, and government facilities were not allowed even with a CHL. They do not have to post a 30.06 sign either. :dunno:

Here, it's a lawyer's write up of what I said basically.

    http://www.burger.com/gunfaq08.htm

The laws really suck. I remember when I renewed my license and one guy in the class raised his hand and asked if post offices were under this. The instructor said he wasn't sure but it's best not to risk it. Then he went on to say if you're carrying concealed, whose gonna know in the first place? :hs:

I try to always carry. No matter what. I figure if it comes to something that requires me to draw, then the legal ramifications are going to be about the least of my worries.

It is technically still required by law in Kennesaw Ga to carry a gun to church.

But in Woodstock GA I carry to church

MA law says I have to bring a gun to church. Also says I have to have a gun in order to cross Boston Common. But considering it's MA, there's probably 10 laws contradicting those.
