after a month of waiting thebladeshop.com emails me and tells me its discontinued and it would be a few months before they would be able to get any of the other models. Does any company actually carry them in stock?

If you want a superior AUG clone, call up TPD directly (www.tpdusa.com) and they'll ship you their model in 3 weeks. Cost is right below $2000, and they use superior products (machined, forged receivers instead of machined cast receivers), their components are all Steyr AUG/USR compatible, and they can take M-16/AR-15 magazines.

MSAR was thinking about getting STANAG compatability, but let's just say TPD's legal brawn is stronger than Tony Marfione's childish antics.

AR15.com has pretty epic threads for both the MSAR STG-556 and a the TPD AXR. In a nutshell, the MSAR people are assholes, they are cocky, and they have an inferior product

PS: I've not had trouble finding the MSAR at local stores and online. MSAR's are hooked up with many major distributors, so you may wanna ask your local stores.

Umm...I think he was talking about knives? At least, I've never known thebladeshop.com to sell guns...but I could be wrong.

As for the MSAR aug clone, I love my STG-556

When I was looking for mine I put up a couple strategic WTB threads, and watched the various boards like a hawk. Within a week I had a ton of replies, of all various types of Microtech's (I left the ad open to what kind I was looking for).

    Have you done the same?

damn. i've been looking to get myself a microtech as they seem to have the best OTF knives. however, i feel like i can't pick one online and buy it because i've never handled any of them.

and living in CA doesn't help.

Microtech won't ship knives to you unless you are active mil/Leo, I'm thinking.

There are also strange interstate commerce laws regarding autos, and many states/counties/municipalities have all kinds of conflicting laws regarding them. In short... It's a clusterfuck of red tape.

I got lucky and bought mine in-state, thereby bypassing most of the bullshit.
