    to the gym?

Or something to keep track of sets/exercises.

im noob to the gym and sometimes forget what exercises i should do. like today icouldnt remember any more exercises for back other then lat pulldown, seated rows and bent over row

2 of my friends who lift alot were there so helped me out.

but does anyone take a notepad or something for the first time. just so i dont forget anything.

ive noticed a little bit of strength gain and i dont get sore enough. pusshing my self hard. Im taking pics every week or so. but wont post them till i see some improvement, right now mostly just noticed that i dont get tired as easy.

i brought like a little notecard to make sure I was doing all that I wanted/needed, but after a while you know your routine well enough that it's just second nature what you did, for how many reps, weight, etc.

Been recording all my workouts for the last 10 years. Every 6 months I usually use a new notebook.

    300 pages. 24.1 x 15.2 cm...:dunno:
There's five sections...supposed to be for 5 different subjuect.
Instead of just being chronological, I have it organized by workouts as well.
lower body/ chest, delts, traps, arms/ back/ abs

I did at one point. No longer. I remember what I did, and all of my training partners, for about 2-3 weeks. It's somewhat annoying. I log my workout once I get home.

if i switch to a new template or something i'll bring a notecard the first day or two if i need to reference anything, but otherwise i just keep it in my head and post in my log(s) as soon as i get home

I do, it helps me keep track of weights and reps so at the next workout I can try and go heavier or do more reps. it helps me keep track of my progress and other interesting things, for instance I never lift well in the morning.

i use one of those mini-spiral notebooks (any place with school supplies sells them)

word to the wise though, either use a pencil or watch where you set your notebook down...ink pens don't hold up against dumbbells and now half my notebook is blacked out

I do it. It is interesting to look back at six months ago and see what you were doing, how long its been since you missed a front squat, etc. Or use it as tool to track trends in your training.
