I was just out washing my car. My sister found it rather odd that I washed the door jams and little step thing.

yea i wash my door jams every other wash. Usually they don't get that dirty within a week but i don't like have them all dirty when I or other people get in the car. I don't wax the inside of the jams though.

Yes. Looks horrible to have a clean car & then dirty ass jams.

Until someone gets in and scuffs their feet on them. Knocking all the dirt outta their shoes.

Exactly. That's the difference between detailing your car and just washing and slapping some wax on it.

lol, I vacuumed out the inside of my car the other day and washed some stains out in the carpet, I had the inside looking real nice and I was pretty pleased with myself... 10 minutes later, my fiance gets in the car and it was all ruined. The hurricane had kept everything pretty wet, and she had stepped through some loose grass and mud, which got all in my car.

    I cried ;)

Then I made her stand there while I cleaned up her mess.

Don't forget the hinges. Get a small electric pressure washer. Spray degreaser in the hinges (they won't squeak afterward...don't worry), and pressure wash.

In addition, don't forget to dress the weather stripping and anything rubber in the doors and door jams.

Dress it with what, and for what purpose?

    Just curious.

I like to polish/wax the underside part of the side skirts :o each time I take the car to the oil change place or everywhere they lift it people comment how clean the skirts are, even the hidden part of the bumpers are insanely clean on my cars :o :hsd:

Armor All works fine. You don't want the weather striping to dry out and crack. Besides, having everything else clean then seeing dirty rubber seals around the door just looks bad.

I do. With the fine red clay we have here, I have to do it every wash. It gets a film everywhere, even where it is supposedly sealed.

I don't "wash them" but I wipe mine out with a towel everytime. Only really get a lot up in there when I've been doing a good bit of driving in the rain or playing in the puddles.

I do it to all customer's vehicles. They get a nice clean vehicle on the outside and open the door to a dirty door jam. It doesn't work.
