so you ears don't look like this?
Wore headgear in HS, but that's probably because it was required
no thompson is just an idiot
my former thai trainer used to pull on students ear's till they snapped. anyone ever see this done or know what it's about. well, they didn't snap off or anything. but you could hear a pop when he did it. i didn't know if it served a purpose or if he was just torturing guys telling them it was good for them or something.
why do sambo guys tend to rock them but most bjj guys dont?
most of the time yes. and i drain when necassary when i don't wear headgear because fucked up ears (like that pictured above) isn't a sign of being cool, it's a sign that you're too damn dumb to wear headgear and or drain your ears when needed, i've seen plenty of people who don't wear headgear and their ears don't look to bad because they drain when necassary.
I do not, my ears have very flexable cartledge so coliflower isn't really a worry for me.
apparently it's part of thai massage. still don't know if there's any benefit. though some crackpot from india is talking about some sort of super brain yoga that involves the ears. it'll make you smarter. as for the thai thing. not sure. can't say it prevents cauliflower ear though.
That's not my favorite part
definitely. years of wrestling and other shit and i've never gotten it at all. my ear has been completely purple before too. my jiu jitsu instructor doesn't have it either and he's been at it for over 12 years.
i'm pretty sure josh barnett doesn't have any either. i don't really remember, but there are a bunch of famous fighters/wrestlers that still don't have it even after a long career.
My left ear sometimes gets sore and slightly puffy in spots but it's only noticeable if you're feeling both ears to tell the difference. I aint wearing any fucking headgear though. I can't stand that shit.
I wear it sometimes, usually forget to bring it =/
I don't and have taken a lot of hard shots to the ears over the years, and only have a tiny bit in my left ear
I had my ear drained once in highschool from wrestling, but never had problems with it in 3 years of BJJ.
I have one in my gym bag which I rarely use. Shit is annoying and the straps end up all over my face when I roll. I only wear it when I'm in the middle of class and my ear gets hit or tender, so I can go on and keep on rolling.
I have a little bit of cauliflower in one of my ears but its barely even noticeable, and could have been avoided if I had it drained.
