    If your answer is YES, so you must know that Microsoft is boycotting illegal copies of Windows with new versions of its softwares only for original ones.

    Try installing the new WMP 11 or IE 7, if you're on pirate Windows it won't work.

    Hmm... the only real problem is that an original copy is pretty expansive!

    ZipGenius (available on www.download.com) can also read many different compressed archive formats. It's freeware; no ads, no trial license. I love it. Something to keep in mind.

    cyberbullets, that is a wicked avatar

    back to OP's topic : I believe that there are many alternatives to WMP and IE such as RealPlayer and Firefox [> IE]. If you have pirated Windows XP these free alternatives might be better solutions for you. You won't have to deal with all the Microsoft applications working together to bring your computer down.

    RP = Oh im watching a ... *BUFFERING* ... vid ... *BUFFERING* ... eo

    Now VLC Media Player is awesome, free and is lightweight, not taking over your computer in a hostle method.

    Yes I agree, RP is evil. I remember when it installed itself to something like seven different locations just to make sure that you could never 'uninstall' it. To be honest it was just the only free video player that I could think of at the moment.

    The big issue with WMP and Windows XP is that they are created by the same company so they communicate to try and stop piracy. Find a media player created by anyone else and this won't be a problem. Sounds like VLC might be a good bet.

    If for some reason you don't want to install firefox (ex: hackers are beginning to target it since its gain in market share) you might want to try Opera.

    WinAmp plays videos now. It has a media library too, and the ability to interface with PMDs. If you pay for it, you also get a smart randomizer that creates playlists based on sonic analysis of each of your songs.
