It's hard to say without knowing anything about the demand for it. You'd have to research demand, research what dealers are willing to pay, figure out what the time per job would be, and then determine if all that shit minus cost of doing business and taxes would make it worthwhile.

I think a good thing to offer would be a software system that keeps track of a customer database - showing how many guns they've bought from you, with an ability to flag risky customers.

If they've bought 6 Hi Points from us in the past 6 months, then yes, they are a risky customer - we won't sell to them.

And the background check doesn't absolve from civil liability.

    :ugh:

guess i'll never come to your store

 wtf @ fucking profiling and discriminating against customers. there's a reason you do background checks, dumbfuck

shouldn't matter how many nor what the particular gun costs

what if someone comes in and buys 6 MP5's in 6 months?

You'd have to be an attorney to do this.

Unauthorized practice of law all over the place if you didn't.

Do background checks protect against straw purchasing? No, but that's still partially our responsibility to mitigate those kinds of sales.

If someone buys a shitload of guns in a short period of time - all the same kind - all the same caliber - that is a red flag to us.

    Yes douche bag.

Essentially you are giving legal advice about the law which is not allowed without admission to the bar...

There are law firms that already exist in doing just this thing...

So some guy comes into our store and wants to buy 10 Hi Points. You suggest we sell it to them? That's a potential $1000 profit compared to potentially tens of thousands of dollars in attorney's fees alone if some municipality decides to sue us.

then if its not 1/30, I know it'll throw up a red flag to the BATF

i still don't get why you would be worried though. its not your responsibility to enforce any "non-law"

Well if I'm a gun dealer and you come in and offer me this service the first thing I'll ask is what qualifies you to be giving me this advice. Not being a lawyer, what would you say?
