and if so, what would you do to fix it? I personally don't think its a huge issue, but I know what people like to say about blown out stuff

It's not because of the sky. I just don't like the photos. The composition seems unremarkable, and black and white urban landscapes are kind of hard to make interesting since there are so many of them. I just don't see why these images need to exist, they don't explain anything, they don't have any value as stock, they just seem like stylized and nifty snapshots that a person who took them probably likes but not much more than that.

But you know me, I'm just a big negative nelly.

    The sky isn't a problem . I like 1 some what .

Number 2 is just semi bad composition . I would've liked to seen it shot a lot lower and it would've be more pleasing to the eye .

I like #1. I laugh at all the people who bitch at blown highlights in the sky when there isnt much you can really do about it. I like the shot and the mood of it. Good Job.

I actually like number 2 better myself :hs:

The blown out sky is unavoidable at times in order to expose the foreground or subject properly. The first one is too cluttered for my taste, maybe if you crop out the sky above the top railing of that gate to give it a 'through the gate' pov?
